Junior MEP Engineer Landscape & External Works (34 Years Experience)
Role Overview
The Junior MEP Engineer Landscape supports the
planning, coordination, execution, and quality control of MEP systems associated with landscape and external works. With 34 years of experience, the role requires
independent handling of defined packages under the guidance of a Senior MEP Engineer.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Design Review & Coordination
Review landscape MEP drawings for
irrigation, drainage, external lighting, and water features.
Coordinate with
landscape architects, civil engineers, and senior MEP consultants to resolve service conflicts.
Ensure alignment of MEP layouts with hardscape, softscape, and site grading plans.
Plan and execute
drip and sprinkler irrigation systems including zoning, valve boxes, and controllers.
Assist in pump selection, pressure calculations, and water source integration (STP treated water, borewell).
Coordinate with horticulture teams for plant water requirements.
- External Electrical & Lighting
Execute
landscape lighting systems such as bollards, pole lights, feature lighting, and uplighters.
Coordinate routing of
cables, conduits, junction boxes, timers, photocells, and earthing systems.
Ensure safe installations and protection in outdoor conditions.
- Drainage & Water Management
Execute
surface drainage, stormwater pipelines, catch pits, and channel drains in landscaped areas.
Coordinate slopes, invert levels, and discharge points with civil and planning teams.
Support rainwater harvesting and recharge pit installations.
- Water Features & Pools (Basic Level)
Coordinate MEP services for
fountains, ponds, and water bodies including pumps, filtration, piping, and lighting.
Ensure electrical and plumbing safety coordination.
- Site Execution & Supervision
Supervise landscape MEP works on site ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
Coordinate daily activities with contractors and vendors.
Check material quality, installation methods, and workmanship.
- Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Assist in
testing and commissioning of irrigation, lighting, and water feature systems.
Support preparation of
as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documents.
- BOQ, Measurement & Cost Control
Assist in quantity take-offs and
measurement verification for billing.
Support basic cost tracking and variation identification.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Hands-on knowledge of
landscape MEP systems (irrigation, drainage, lighting)
Ability to independently handle site coordination
Understanding of outdoor electrical safety and water management
Software Skills
AutoCAD (essential)
MS Excel (intermediate)
Revit MEP / BIM (preferred)
Soft Skills
Strong coordination and communication skills
Problem-solving approach on site
Ability to manage multiple landscape zones/packages
Experience & Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
34 years of relevant experience in MEP works, preferably landscape or external development projects
Experience in
corporate campuses, townships, hospitality, or large residential projects preferred
