Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. The role involves supporting senior design engineers by preparing CAD models, drawings, and technical documentation while ensuring designs meet functional, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Key Roles and Responsibilities,
- Assist in the design of mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems.
- Create and modify 2D/3D CAD models and drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.
- Prepare detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
- Perform basic design calculations and tolerance analysis.
- Support prototype development, testing, and design validation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Revise designs based on test results, production feedback, or engineering changes.
- Maintain proper documentation and version control.
Qualifications & Experience,
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, casting, sheet metal, welding, etc.)
- Familiarity with engineering standards and drawing practices.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Skills,
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools (Solidworks, CATIA, Creo, AutoCAD, etc)
- Basic knowledge of GD&T.
- Understanding of basic design and manufacturing concepts
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Experience Level,
- Entry-level / 12 years of experience.
