Junior Interior Designer

Dotand is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer to join our Chennai studio. The ideal candidate will have 2–5 years of professional experience in interior design and a strong passion for creating functional, aesthetically appealing, and innovative spaces.

In this role, you will work closely with senior designers, architects, consultants, and project teams to develop design concepts, prepare presentations, create technical drawings, and support project execution from concept to completion. You will contribute to residential, commercial, institutional, hospitality, retail, and corporate interior projects while ensuring design quality, project timelines, and client expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing interior design concepts, mood boards, and presentation materials.
• Prepare space planning layouts and optimize interior environments.
• Develop detailed interior drawings, working drawings, and project documentation.
• Coordinate material selections, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).
• Collaborate with architects, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Conduct site visits, take measurements, and monitor project progress.
• Support design revisions, approvals, and implementation processes.
• Ensure design solutions align with project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
• Stay updated on current interior design trends, materials, and industry practices.

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in Interior Design projects.
• Strong understanding of space planning, interior detailing, materials, and finishes.
• Knowledge of architectural principles and construction methodologies related to interiors.
• Experience in preparing construction drawings, working drawings, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with FF&E selection, specification, and coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, or similar design software.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is preferred.
• Strong visualization, presentation, and design communication skills.
