Role Description
You will be a key driver of financial discipline at Zoomies as we scale — managing books, compliance, and reporting with precision, while staying nimble enough to handle the pace of a D2C startup. This role is built for a hustler, someone who can run the numbers with rigour, but also roll up their sleeves and figure things out when the playbook doesn't exist yet.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping using Tally Prime, Zoho Books, or similar tools.
- Own monthly book closures, ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely reconciliation across all ledgers.
- Handle GST filings, TDS deductions, and other statutory compliances within deadlines.
- Prepare monthly P&L, cash flow statements, and financial MIS reports for the founding team.
- Reconcile bank statements, payment gateway settlements (Razorpay, Cashfree), and marketplace/Q-Commerce payouts.
- Coordinate with the external CA firm for audits, ITR filings, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, process vendor invoices, payments, and follow up on collections.
- Support fundraising and due diligence processes with accurate financial documentation when required.
- Identify process gaps in financial operations and build simple, scalable systems to fix them.
Must Have Qualifications
- 1–3 years of relevant experience, CA Inter, CA, or B.Com/M.Com graduates with strong accounting exposure are all welcome to apply.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally Prime, Zoho Books, or QuickBooks).
- Solid understanding of GST, TDS, and Indian accounting standards.
- Comfortable working with payment gateway and marketplace settlement reconciliations.
- A hustler's mindset - you don't wait for a perfect process, you build one if it doesn't exist.
- High attention to detail with strong ownership - numbers don't slip through your hands.
- Thrives in a startup environment & comfortable with ambiguity, fast timelines, and wearing multiple hats.
Good to Have
- Prior experience in a D2C, e-commerce, or FMCG startup.
- Exposure to financial reporting for investor decks, fundraising, or board reviews.
- Working knowledge of Excel-based financial modelling.
