The Junior Engineer will be responsible for site-level quality monitoring, assurance and compliance across multiple civil works. The role involves stage-wise quality checks, witnessing tests, reviewing documentation and ensuring that all works comply with client specifications, SOPs and approved drawings.
The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
Major Responsibilities
Assist in conducting laboratory and field tests on concrete, fine aggregate, and coarse aggregate.
Carry out routine quality checks at the batching plant, including slump test, cube casting, and curing.
Maintain systematic records of all test results under the supervision of the Senior Engineer.
Verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs) for civil materials and ensure documentation is complete.
Support preparation of daily and weekly quality reports.Escalate any non-conformance or quality issues to the Senior Quality Engineer.
Coordinate with site engineers and lab technicians for timely sampling and testing.
Skills & Competencies
Working knowledge of IS codes and basic testing procedures for concrete and aggregates.
Hands-on experience in cube testing, slump testing, and aggregate testing.
Good documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work under the supervision of senior engineers and follow instructions effectively.
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic report preparation.
Qualification, Experience & Technical Knowledge
Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum experience of 2 years.
Skills & Qualities
Practical knowledge of basic concrete and aggregate testing procedures.
Familiarity with cube casting, slump test, sieve analysis, and aggregate impact test.
Understanding of batching plant operations at a working level.
Ability to verify and maintain MTCs with senior engineer's supervision.
Proficiency in MS Excel for maintaining records and preparing simple reports.
Should be able to communicate in Hindi, English, Telugu
