Electrical Engineer — Deployments & Panel Fabrication
Onsite
- Field-heavy
- Bengaluru (with frequent travel)
City Greens is a fast-growing AgriTech startup building automation solutions for Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA). We build and deploy electrical and IoT-based automation systems at farms and greenhouses across India — and we need a hands-on electrical engineer to help us install, commission, and support them.
Role overview
This is a field-first electrical role. You will spend a significant portion of your time at customer sites — installing electrical systems, commissioning panels, and ensuring everything runs correctly before you leave. Back at the lab, you will build and test electrical panels for upcoming deployments. If you are comfortable with wires, tools, and travel — and you take pride in clean, safe electrical work — this role is for you.
What you will do
Site electrical installation
Travel to customer farms and greenhouses to install and commission electrical systems — power distribution, wiring, earthing, device mounting, and cable management. Verify installations are safe and functional before handover.
Electrical panel fabrication
Build electrical panels at our lab — MCBs, relays, contactors, terminal blocks, power supply units, cable routing, and labelling. Panels must meet safety standards and be field-ready before dispatch.
Prototype support
Assist the hardware team with electrical assembly of prototypes — wiring, power connections, enclosure work, and bench testing. You handle the electrical side; the engineering team handles the electronics.
On-site support & troubleshooting
Respond to field issues at customer sites. Diagnose electrical faults, carry out repairs, and restore systems. This may require short-notice travel.
Requirements
Who this role is for
- Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
- People who are comfortable with physical work — running cables, building panels, working on-site
- Candidates who are willing and able to travel frequently, including to semi-urban or rural farm locations
- Individuals who take pride in safe, clean, reliable electrical work
- Self-starters who can work independently at a customer site without hand-holding
Key skills & traits
Required
- Sound understanding of AC/DC circuits, voltage, current, and power
- Hands-on experience with switchgear: MCBs, relays, contactors, fuses, terminal blocks
- Ability to read and follow electrical wiring diagrams and schematics
- Comfortable with tools: crimping, cable lugs, multimeters, cable trays
- Strong awareness of electrical safety practices
- Willingness to travel frequently — this is non-negotiable
Good to have
- Exposure to industrial electrical systems or automation panels
- Experience with solar power systems or battery backups
- Prior site installation or commissioning experience
- Basic familiarity with low-voltage DC systems (12V / 24V)
Benefits
What we offer
Internship-to-full-time pathway
This role begins as a 3-month onsite internship — unpaid, evaluated on real contribution and field performance. Candidates who demonstrate reliability, safety discipline, and ownership will be offered a full-time position.
Starting salary
₹25,000 / month
Coverage
Health insurance
- Real field experience from day one — not a desk internship
- Exposure to automation and AgriTech deployments across India
- Mentorship from senior engineers and the hardware team
- Growth into senior field engineering or hardware production roles
