Role Description
This is a full-time on-site Junior Design Engineer - Mechanical (Solar) role located in Pune at V-TECH Renewables PRIVATE LIMITED. The Junior Design Engineer will be responsible for design engineering, mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), electrical engineering, and product design tasks related to solar projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing mechanical structures for solar power systems, including module mounting structures (MMS) for rooftop and ground-mounted systems.
- Prepare layout drawings, mechanical BOMs, and fabrication drawings in compliance with client and project specifications.
- Support in wind load, structural stability, and shadow analysis calculations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure proper integration of mechanical design with civil and electrical components.
- Assist in material selection based on structural, cost, and environmental considerations.
- Coordinate with vendors and fabrication teams to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Participate in on-site inspections, measurement collection, and preparation of as-built drawings.
- Ensure that all designs follow industry standards (IS codes, NBC, etc.) and are aligned with project-specific requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 02 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the solar industry.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools.
- Understanding of mechanical loads, structural strength, and wind load calculations.
- Awareness of solar PV components and mounting systems.
- Exposure to ground-mount and rooftop solar project designs.
- Familiarity with IS 875, NBC, and relevant mechanical/structural codes.
- Attention to detail, strong documentation skills, and a proactive mindset.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
