About the Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic and articulate early-career professional to join our team as a Junior Consultant – Social. The role will involve supporting assignments related to social impact assessment, human rights, stakeholder engagement, community development, corporate social responsibility, and the social dimensions of sustainability and ESG. The selected candidate will work closely with our advisory and technology teams to undertake research, manage and analyse large datasets, contribute to technical reports, digital content and strategic communications, and prepare GIS-based social maps, layers and analytical outputs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process, clean, validate and structure Census of India 2011 and other demographic and socio-economic datasets.
2. Develop, edit, merge and maintain GIS vector layers, including village and administrative boundaries, using QGIS.
3. Undertake data consolidation, attribute revision and quality assurance of spatial and tabular datasets.
4. Integrate census and other socio-economic data with spatial layers for thematic mapping and analysis.
5. Prepare maps, spatial visualisations and cartographic outputs for advisory assignments, reports and presentations.
6. Support research and analysis related to social development, human rights, livelihoods and community infrastructure.
7. Document metadata, maintain GIS databases and organise project datasets systematically.
8. Support field-data validation and incorporate verified information into project databases, maps and other deliverables.

Preferred Skills

1. Working knowledge of QGIS, including vector-layer creation and editing, attribute and spatial joins, geoprocessing, and map-layout preparation.
2. Familiarity with Census of India 2011 data and commonly used spatial and tabular data formats, including Shapefile, GeoPackage and CSV.
3. Demonstrated interest in social development, human rights, corporate social responsibility and human development.
4. Strong analytical, documentation and data-management skills.

What You Will Gain

The role will provide hands-on experience in QGIS, spatial data management and thematic mapping through real-world advisory assignments, along with practical exposure to Census of India 2011 and other socio-economic datasets. The selected candidate will strengthen skills in GIS-layer development, data cleaning, spatial analysis and geospatial database management while contributing to impact assessments, watershed-management and community-development projects, professional reports, maps and evidence-based research. Working with multidisciplinary teams and receiving guidance from experienced GIS and development professionals will provide a strong foundation for a career in sustainability and ESG advisory, social development, CSR, strategic communications and impact consulting.

Stipend: ₹18,000 per month (Consolidated)

Duration: 6 Months (Probation)

Engagement: Full-time

Work Mode: Work from Office (Monday to Friday – 09:30 to 18:30)
