Job Description

Overview:

Aster Medcity is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Cathlab Technician to support our cardiology team in delivering high-quality patient care. In this role, you will assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, maintain cath lab readiness, and ensure patient safety throughout all stages of the procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

Cathlab Preparation:

  • Set up equipment, instruments, and supplies prior to cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.

Procedural Assistance:

  • Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angiograms, angioplasty, stent placements, and electrophysiology studies.

Technical Operations:

  • Operate and troubleshoot specialized cath lab equipment, including fluoroscopy and imaging systems.

Patient Monitoring:

  • Monitor patients vital signs and ECG during procedures; promptly report abnormalities to the clinical team.

Infection Control:

  • Maintain a sterile environment, adhering strictly to infection prevention and control protocols.

Radiation Safety:

  • Apply appropriate radiation protection measures for patients, staff, and self.

Post-Procedure Support:

  • Assist in post-procedure patient care, including safe patient transfer and recovery monitoring.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform regular checks and calibration of cath lab equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Documentation:

  • Accurately document procedure details, patient data, and any incidents in compliance with hospital standards.

Professional Development:

  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with advancements in cardiac technology and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Cathlab Technology or related Allied Health Science program
  • Prior experience or internship in a cardiac catheterization lab preferred
  • Strong understanding of cath lab protocols, equipment, and safety standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to patient care, safety, and professional ethics
