A Junior Biomedical Equipment Calibration Engineer is responsible for performing calibration, testing, and validation of medical devices to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves hands-on technical work, documentation, and coordination with hospital staff to maintain equipment performance and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calibration & Validation: Perform scheduled calibration of biomedical equipment such as ventilators, patient monitors, infusion pumps, and other critical devices as per OEM and regulatory standards.
- Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct functional, performance, and electrical safety testing using calibration tools (e.g., safety analyzers, simulators) and resolve minor technical issues.
- Compliance & Documentation: Prepare and maintain calibration reports, certificates, and service records in line with NABH, ISO, and NABL requirements.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by ensuring documentation accuracy and equipment traceability.
- Coordination: Work closely with service teams, hospital staff, and senior engineers for calibration planning and issue resolution.
- Training Support: Provide basic guidance to users on proper handling and routine care of medical equipment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Education: Diploma / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of biomedical equipment and calibration procedures.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with ISO 13485, NABH, NABL, and healthcare safety standards.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and support corrective actions.
- Soft Skills: Attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and effective communication with healthcare professionals.
Qualification:
- Diploma / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical equipment calibration is mandatory
- Certification in medical equipment calibration (preferred).
