About the Role

Xtrawrkx is hiring on behalf of one of our clients for the position of Junior CAD Designer – 2W.

We are looking for a skilled CAD Designer with strong expertise in Siemens NX and a passion for automotive design. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing components, mechanisms, and mounting solutions for electric two-wheelers, while working closely with Engineering, Styling, and Manufacturing teams to ensure production-ready designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop parts, components, and mechanisms for electric 2-wheelers using Siemens NX.
  • Develop mounting solutions for trims and other vehicle components.
  • Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings.
  • Understand design requirements, technical constraints, and incorporate engineering feedback.
  • Support vehicle packaging and design integration to ensure proper component fitment and production feasibility.
  • Support physical prototyping and design validation activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Styling, Manufacturing, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Incorporate feedback and make necessary design modifications.
  • Maintain design documentation and provide regular project updates.
  • Apply basic knowledge of GD&T, sheet metal, plastics, and injection moulding.
  • Ensure designs are aligned with manufacturing processes and production requirements.
  • Stay updated with relevant automotive and EV design trends.
  • Work effectively within fast-paced project timelines and changing requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline.
  • 2–4 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in the automotive or EV industry.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX / NX CAD.
  • Good understanding of 3D CAD modelling and 2D engineering drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T.
  • Basic understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes.
  • Basic understanding of plastic part design and injection moulding.
  • Experience in automotive component design, packaging, or mechanism design is preferred.
  • Good communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in 2W automotive or EV product development.
  • Exposure to plastic component and trim design.
  • Understanding of vehicle packaging and component fitment.
  • Experience working with Engineering, Styling, and Manufacturing teams.
