Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive, eager-to-learn Junior Backend Developer with foundational AI exposure to join our growing tech team. You will work closely with senior developers to build and maintain scalable server-side services, RESTful APIs, and backend features that power core platform functionality. In addition to backend responsibilities, you will assist in integrating AI-driven capabilities such as predictive analytics, automation modules, intelligent data processing, and AI-powered workflows into our SaaS ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of backend services, APIs, and microservices.
- Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Help troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance and reliability.
- Support implementation of new features and enhancements to existing services.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and product teams to deliver quality features.
- Follow backend best practices, including version control (Git), testing, and documentation.
- Assist with integration of third-party APIs (e.g., marketplaces, payment gateways) under supervision.
- Support integration of AI models, ML APIs, and LLM-based services into backend workflows.
- Work with structured and unstructured datasets for analytics and AI feature enhancement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience working with Node.js-based frameworks, with strong hands-on expertise and preference for TypeScript.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services fundamentals.
- Understanding of database concepts (relational like PostgreSQL/MySQL and/or NoSQL like MongoDB).
- Experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, OpenCode) to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Exposure to version control systems (Git).
- Basic knowledge or hands-on exposure to AI/ML fundamentals, API-based AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Claude, Gemini).
- Understanding of JSON, asynchronous programming, and backend performance optimization.
- Logical problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred (Bonus) Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Exposure to CI/CD workflows and automation pipelines.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture principles.
- Understanding of data pipelines, vector databases, or AI embeddings concepts.
- Experience integrating chatbots, recommendation engines, or AI analytics modules.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker & K8s.
- Familiarity with Python for AI integration (basic level acceptable).
