Role Description The Junior Architectural Designer will support the design team in developing concepts, preparing drawings, and assisting with documentation for ongoing projects. This full-time, on-site role in Chennai involves producing architectural plans, sections, elevations, and 3D visuals under the guidance of senior team members. The designer will contribute to design presentations, coordinate with consultants as directed, and help refine details from schematic design through construction documentation. Daily responsibilities include drafting and modeling, updating drawing sets, conducting basic site and context research, and ensuring design outputs align with project requirements and studio standards. The role also involves occasional site visits, tracking design changes, and collaborating closely with architects, planners, and interior designers.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge in Architecture and Architectural Design with the ability to translate concepts into buildable solutions.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret Construction Drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and basic detailing.
  • Strong Drawing skills (freehand and/or digital) to communicate ideas clearly through sketches and diagrams.
  • Awareness of Urban Planning principles and how site, context, and public realm influence design.
  • Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar) and basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for presentations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a studio environment, take feedback constructively, and manage tasks within deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and interest in multidisciplinary design (landscape, interiors, and graphics) are highly beneficial.
