Junior Architect

Company Description Studio Sadrsya, founded in 2024 by architects Harshit Laddha and Shivani Dhurkunde, is a design practice rooted in the classical aesthetic idea of sādṛśya — expressing the true essence of things. The studio believes architecture should move beyond surface appearance to engage the deeper nature of materials, light, structure, and space. Its work emphasizes experiential and context-driven atmospheres, where materials feel authentic and light shapes calm, meaningful environments. Projects range from residential farmhouses to research-led explorations, all approached as transformations of nature into human experience. The studio operates at the intersection of design clarity, material honesty, and spatial sensitivity to create grounded, reflective architecture.

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Architect role based in Ahmedabad. The Junior Architect will support the design process from concept to detail, preparing drawings, 3D models, and presentation materials under the guidance of senior team members. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing architectural layouts, assisting with material and precedent research, and coordinating design details that align with the studio's philosophy of authenticity and contextual sensitivity. The role involves preparing documentation for clients and consultants, participating in internal design reviews, and contributing to research and experimentation related to materials, light, and spatial experience. The Junior Architect will also assist in basic project coordination tasks, including maintaining project files and helping track design milestones.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Design, with the ability to translate concepts into clear drawings and spatial proposals.
• Basic understanding of Software Development and Integration as they relate to design tools, workflows, and digital collaboration (e.g., interoperability between modeling and documentation software).
• Exposure to Project Management principles, including organizing tasks, managing timelines, and supporting coordination with consultants and vendors.
• Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar), along with graphic tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture with a strong academic portfolio demonstrating design clarity, material sensitivity, and spatial thinking.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a studio environment, openness to critique, and willingness to learn through iterative design and research.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to on-site presence in Ahmedabad.
• Interest in material exploration, context-driven design, and research-based practice is highly beneficial.
