Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Accountant role based in Guwahati. The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role involves preparing and reconciling invoices, bank statements, and vendor/customer accounts, as well as helping with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings. The Junior Accountant will assist in preparing basic financial reports, supporting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The position also includes coordinating with cross-functional teams, maintaining organized financial records, and providing administrative support to the finance and accounts department as needed.
Qualifications
  • Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, journal entries, general ledger posting, and basic financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems) and MS Office applications, especially Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, reconciliations).
  • Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and account reconciliation.
  • Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of financial information.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; relevant internships or up to 2 years of experience in an accounting role are an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Indian taxation basics (GST, TDS) and compliance processes is preferred.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the finance function of a manufacturing/industrial organization.
