Job Description: Junior Accountant (Manufacturing Industry)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in GST, ITR filing, Tally, ERP systems, advanced Excel, and a strong understanding of statutory compliances applicable to manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate day-to-day financial records in Tally ERP / ERP systems.

Handle accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and ledger scrutiny.

Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.

2. GST & Taxation

Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliations).

Manage e-invoicing, e-way bills, and GST portal activities.

Assist in preparation and filing of Income Tax Returns (ITR) and related documentation.

Ensure timely submission of all tax-related compliances.

3. Compliance & Documentation

Maintain statutory records and support compliance activities as per Manufacturing Industry norms (e.g., PF, ESI, professional tax, factory-related compliances).

Coordinate with auditors during internal and statutory audits.

Prepare and maintain documentation for GST audits and tax assessments.

4. Inventory & Cost Coordination (Manufacturing)

Assist in inventory valuation, consumption reports, and stock reconciliation.

Coordinate with production, stores, and procurement teams for accounting of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.

Support cost accounting activities and prepare cost sheets if required.

5. Advanced Excel & Reporting

Create MIS reports, financial summaries, and dashboards using advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Conditional Formatting, etc.).

Analyse financial data to support decision-making.

Required Skills

Strong knowledge of GST filing, ITR, and taxation rules.

Hands-on experience with Tally ERP & other ERP tools.

Advance Excel proficiency.

Knowledge of manufacturing accounting practices and compliance requirements.

Good understanding of accounting standards and financial documentation.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications

B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.

13 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in manufacturing companies.
