Junior Accountant supports the finance team by handling daily transactions, recording journal entries, managing payables/receivables, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close and financial report preparation, all under senior supervision to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with standards like GAAP. Key skills include accounting software proficiency, strong Excel, detail-orientation, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry & Record Keeping: Posting journal entries, maintaining general ledger, updating accounts.
Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR): Processing invoices, managing payments, handling collections.
Reconciliation: Performing bank reconciliations and reconciling accounts.
Reporting: Assisting with balance sheets, financial statements, and other reports.
Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
Audit Support: Gathering documents and assisting senior staff during audits.
Payroll: Administering payroll and related taxes.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: Some experience with general ledgers and AP/AR is often required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (ERP systems).
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical ability, problem-solving, multitasking, and confidentiality.
Reporting Structure
Works under the guidance of a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Finance Manager.
