Junior Accountant supports the accounting department by handling daily financial tasks like data entry, processing invoices (AP/AR), reconciling accounts (bank/general ledger), preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end close and basic financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet), all under senior supervision to maintain financial records and ensure compliance, requiring strong attention to detail, math skills, and software proficiency.
Key Responsibilities:Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately inputting financial transactions and maintaining ledgers.Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processing vendor invoices, issuing client invoices, and managing payments.Bank & Account Reconciliations: Matching bank statements with internal records and reconciling general ledger accounts.Journal Entries: Preparing and posting adjusting journal entries.Financial Reporting Support: Assisting with the preparation of monthly/quarterly financial statements and reports.Payroll: Administering and processing employee payroll.Audit Support: Helping senior staff with internal and external audits.Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and company policies. Essential Skills & Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero), MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP).Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, problem-solving, organization, communication, and ability to work in a team.
