Jr. Mechanical & HSD Engineer

Nxtra by Airtel Africa is expanding its hyperscale data centre footprint and is looking for a Jr. Mechanical & HSD Engineer to support the design and delivery of mission-critical infrastructure projects.

Role Overview

The role will support end-to-end engineering and execution of hyperscale data centre projects, with a strong focus on mechanical systems and HSD/DG infrastructure. The incumbent will work closely with design consultants, project teams, and vendors to ensure high-quality and reliable delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Support design review and execution of mechanical systems for hyperscale data centres
• Assist in delivery of HVAC, cooling, DG, fuel storage & HSD handling systems
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with design standards, safety norms, and statutory requirements
• Support testing, commissioning, and project handover activities
• Participate in technical evaluations and vendor coordination

Experience & Qualifications

• Total experience: 10 years
• Minimum 3 years of direct data centre experience
• Exposure to design and delivery of hyperscale data centre projects
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Strong understanding of data centre mechanical infrastructure and fuel systems
