Junior Estimation Contract Engineer

Job Summary
As a Junior Estimation Contract Engineer, I assist in preparing accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and budget analysis for residential and commercial construction projects. I analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to support cost planning, procurement, and project execution while ensuring compliance with company standards and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.
- Develop rate analysis and detailed cost estimates for construction activities such as brickwork (BBM), plastering, gypsum work, painting, etc.
- Coordinate with site and design teams for drawing revisions and updated BOQs.
- Prepare and maintain Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for structural elements.
- Compare consultant BOQs with site data and identify discrepancies (e.g., plumbing works).
- Generate work orders for contractors in Highrise and StockUp ERP systems after management approval of MOUs.
- Maintain organized project documentation and Excel-based estimation sheets based on GFC drawings.
- Assist senior engineers in cost estimation reports and budget tracking.
- Track and update material requirements across projects, ensuring proper documentation and approvals in ERP systems.
- Prepare accurate tiling quantity estimates, including wastage calculations, floor-wise and building-wise based on GFC drawings.
Skills
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas preferred)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience with ERP systems (Highrise, StockUp)
- Attention to detail and documentation management
- Good coordination and communication skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Basic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and estimation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Understanding of BOQ (Bill of Quantities), rate analysis, and cost estimation
- Familiarity with Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) preparation
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and basic ERP systems (e.g., Highrise, StockUp)
- Knowledge of GFC drawings and quantity take-off methods
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
