Job Description

Job Description The Subsea Network Operation Center (NOC) role is responsible for 24x7 network operations and maintenance of submarine cable systems. This is an operational role that may seek appropriate levels of guidance and advice to ensure delivery of quality outcomes. Responsibilities Good knowledge of subsea cable systems, subsea cable technologies, vendors, and their NMS. Maintain equipment and traffic uptime. Perform traffic monitoring, fault analysis, complaint handling, and fault resolution. Coordinate with CLS for network fault troubleshooting and rectification of problems. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per JSMD guidelines. Manage planned and unplanned activities and provide timely and regular updates to concerned teams. Actively coordinate with internal customers, consortium parties, cable landing stations, and vendors to resolve system-related problems. Handle circuit provisioning, activation, deactivation, and testing in coordination with Cable Landing Station teams. Test and maintain restoration paths and ensure readiness for use. Prepare and analyze equipment and network performance reports and submit them to the consortium as per schedule. Coordinate cable failure, repair, and traffic restoration activities as per JSMD guidelines. Implement remedial actions proposed by vendors to resolve equipment and network deficiencies. Manage new installation and upgrade activities. Ensure processes are followed to achieve committed SLAs and KPIs. Achieve customer satisfaction through effective network performance. Ensure compliance with JSMD guidelines. Maintain, administer, upgrade, and troubleshoot network tools and equipment. Assist with installations for new and existing customer and internal projects, including terminations, testing, labeling of transmission media, and hardware installations. Ensure SLAs are achieved and proactively maintained. Conduct vulnerability assessments for networks, servers, applications, and operating systems. Conduct network security audits and vulnerability scanning on a scheduled basis. Compile and track vulnerabilities for reporting and metrics purposes. Ensure timely upgrades of operational tools and associated documentation, including SOPs.
