Jr. Accountant

Company Description: GG Wastech Pvt. Ltd., founded in February 2021, is a fast-growing waste management start-up based in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, with operations across India. The company focuses on sustainable waste disposal techniques and logistics, supporting a circular economy and reduced carbon footprint. Its services include supply of Alternative Fuel Resources (industrial and agricultural waste, RDF), biomining of legacy waste, EPR execution, and construction of SLFs and LTPs, along with end-to-end logistics.

Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Jr. Accountant role based in Raipur. The Jr. Accountant will support daily accounting operations, including recording transactions, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable. Responsibilities include preparing and reconciling bank statements, supporting invoice processing, tracking expenses, and helping with monthly closing activities. The role also involves preparing basic financial reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders on financial documentation. The Jr Accountant will assist senior finance staff with audits, budgeting support, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems) and MS Excel, including formulas, spreadsheets, and data entry.
• Ability to manage accounts payable/receivable, perform reconciliations, and maintain accurate ledgers and financial records.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field; 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with GST, TDS, and basic taxation concepts.
• Interest in working in a sustainability-focused, fast-paced start-up environment and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
