Role Overview
This position requires a thorough understanding of joinery processes, materials, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will prepare detailed cost breakdowns, liaise with suppliers, monitor project budgets, and refine estimation methodologies based on historical data.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for joinery projects, considering materials, labor, and production timelines.
- Analyze and interpret architectural and shop drawings to assess project requirements.
- Calculate material takeoffs, ensuring efficiency and minimal waste.
- Source competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services.
- Prepare and submit tenders, ensuring alignment with client specifications and deadlines.
- Track project costs, report variations, and ensure budget compliance.
- Analyze past project data to refine future estimates and develop standardized cost models.
- Conduct site visits when necessary to gather insights and verify project scope.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Joinery Estimator in a factory or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Skilled in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Relevant qualifications in joinery, woodworking, or a related field are desirable.
