Job Description

• Responsibilities Comprehensive architectural discovery of application infrastructure and services identify dependent services and systems and identify migration risks Plan new migrations to the cloud including infrastructure perform and organize proof of concepts document architectural patterns.
• Work with project managers application teams and other technical staff as needed to ensure successful migrations of applications into the AWS cloud using AWS IaaS PaaS DevOps and other services as needed Necessary Skills.
• Successful 5 years of experience as an architect with significant cloud technologies experience.
• Experience with AWS fundamental technologies e g EC2 S3 CloudFront Load Balancers EFS EBS FSx AMIs Route 53 IAM ASGs Lambdas and CloudFormation or Terraform.
• A bit of Azure experience is desirable Exposure to containers using ECS EKS or through container development with CI CD to Docker Conversant with security at all points in an architecture including encryption in its various states authorization authentication and secrets management Experience with DevOps tools including build pipelines automated deployments and exposure to blue green deployments preferred.
• Robust analytical skills with the ability to synthesize business requirements with technology capabilities to produce coherent architectures and technical designs Extensive experience with a variety of distributed processing models Services architecture w design experience preferred with microservices and monolithic architectures.

Primary Skill

• Experience with service refactoring preferred Familiarity with basics of network communication and architecture including firewalls load balancing IP subnets and general TCP IP network troubleshooting tools and concepts Familiarity with relational database enterprise architecture using Oracle PostgreSQL SQL Server and MySQL in the context of on premises cloud using unmanaged instances like EC2 and managed data services like RDS Champion non-functional requirements e g security scalability monitoring etc.
• Significant experience partnering with teams business leaders and be credible and influential with senior technology personnel to be successful.

Secondary Skill

• Ability to articulate technical strategy value and risks to technical and non-technical audiences Strong written and verbal communication experience including cultural and language awareness.
• Have time management skills sufficient for the challenge of servicing multiple projects in different lines of business daily.
