Role Description The Job Controller/Floor Supervisor at Gurudev Motors – Škoda Cars Workshop will oversee day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring that service and repair jobs are planned, allocated, and completed efficiently. This full-time, on-site role in Chennai includes assigning work to technicians, monitoring job progress, coordinating with service advisors, and maintaining clear communication on job status and delivery timelines. The role involves reviewing job cards, verifying parts availability, and supporting quality checks to ensure adherence to manufacturer standards and customer expectations. The Job Controller/Floor Supervisor will help optimize workshop capacity, manage workflow to reduce turnaround time, and promote safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company policies. This position also requires collaborating with other departments to resolve technical issues, handle escalations, and support a positive customer experience.
Qualifications

  • Strong workshop management and floor supervision skills, including job planning, technician allocation, and workflow coordination.
  • Knowledge of automotive service and repair processes, especially for passenger cars; experience with Škoda or similar brands is an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret job cards, repair estimates, and technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with technicians, service advisors, parts department, and customers.
  • Basic proficiency in using dealer management systems, service scheduling tools, and common office software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with attention to detail and focus on safety and quality standards.
  • Experience in an automotive workshop in a supervisory or controller role; prior work in a branded dealership environment is preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
