Job Description

Job Title: Jira Specialist

Location: Bangalore

Experience: 8-10 Years experience

Role Overview:

As a Jira Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management, configuration, and optimization of the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira Data Center, Jira Cloud, Jira Service Management (JSM), Confluence, and Assets (Insight). You will play a critical role in supporting enterprise-wide collaboration, IT service delivery, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and configure Jira Data Center & Cloud, including DC-to-Cloud migration (Jira & Jira service Desk).
  • Manage Jira Issue types, workflows, screens, permissions, custom fields, automation rules, notifications and screen schemes.
  • Set up and support Jira Service Management (JSM): service desks, SLAs, request types, and portals.
  • Design and maintain Assets (Insight) schemas.
  • Support Confluence spaces, templates, permissions, and plug-in management.
  • Provide application support for Jira, Confluence, and JSM across IT and business teams.
  • Gather and analyze business requirements to optimize Jira/Confluence configurations.
  • Evaluate, test, and configure Jira/Confluence plug-ins.
  • Automate tasks using REST APIs, webhooks, and ScriptRunner.
  • Create Jira projects, filters, dashboards, and reports.
  • Document workflows, configurations, and processes to support runbooks and training.
  • Stay updated with the latest Jira features and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Jira administration experience (DC & Cloud), including DC-to-Cloud migration (Jira & Jira service Desk)
  • Expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Assets (Insight).
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices and service management workflows.
  • Proficient in REST APIs, scripting (e.g., Groovy/ScriptRunner), and system integrations.
  • Familiar with Agile (Scrum, Kanban), and SAFe methodologies.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Proactive, client-focused, and able to provide strategic guidance.

Must Have skills:

  • Jira Administration experience (Data Center & Cloud), including DC-to-Cloud migration (Jira & JSM)
  • Expertise in Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), Confluence, and Assets (Insight)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL practices and service management workflows
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, scripting (e.g., Groovy/ScriptRunner), and system integrations

Good to have skills:

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
  • Experience with Confluence templates, spaces, and plug-in management
  • Knowledge of automation using webhooks and ScriptRunner beyond basics
