Java production support

We are looking for an experienced Java Production Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Java, Spring Boot, and SQL, along with deep experience in supporting production environments. You will be responsible for incident management, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ensuring high availability and performance of business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L2/L3 support for Java-based production applications.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Monitor application performance and ensure system stability using monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics).
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and coordinate with development teams for permanent fixes.
• Create and maintain incident tickets, logs, and documentation for recurring issues.
• Develop scripts for automation, monitoring, and support tools using Shell, Python, or similar.
• Work closely with DevOps, Development, and QA teams to deploy changes and hotfixes.
• Ensure SLA adherence and work on continuous improvement of support processes.
• Participate in on-call rotations for 24x7 support as needed.

Required Skills:

• 7–12 years of total experience in Java/J2EE application support or development.
• Strong experience in Spring Boot, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in SQL, writing complex queries, analyzing DB issues (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Good understanding of application servers, logs, and monitoring tools.
• Experience in Unix/Linux environments with scripting knowledge (Shell, Bash).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand Java code to support and debug production issues.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven).
• Exposure to incident and change management processes (ITIL framework).
• Familiarity with message brokers like Kafka, RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Understanding of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
