Role Type: Lead Developer + Technical Leadership
About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Developer with strong experience in Microservices, AWS, and Kafka, along with mandatory exposure to the Banking domain. Prior Payments domain experience is highly preferred.
The candidate will also provide technical leadership to a 3-4 member development team and play a key role in the successful transition and ongoing delivery of the projects under Payment domain.
Key Responsibilities
. Lead design and development of Java-based microservices and cloud-native components on AWS.
. Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and code quality guidance to a 3-4 member team.
. Collaborate with cross location teams (Australia & India) during the project execution.
. Build and optimize secure, scalable, and high performance microservices.
. Integrate and manage Kafka for event streaming and asynchronous processing.
. Work closely with DevOps, QA, Architecture, and Product teams to ensure smooth delivery.
. Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and architecture decisions.
Required Skills & Experience
. 9-10 years of hands-on development experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem solving abilities.
. Strong experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, API Gateway, etc.).
. Experience integrating and working with Kafka (producers, consumers, topics, streaming concepts).
. Banking domain experience is mandatory.
. Strong preference for candidates with Payments domain exposure
. Ability to lead and mentor a small development team.
. Working knowledge of basic DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals).
. Strong understanding of distributed systems and API integration patterns.
Good-to-Have Skills
. Experience with system migrations, platform modernization, or cloud transitions.
. Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
. Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, etc.).
