Java Developer

About Position:

We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer who can drive backend engineering initiatives, lead modules, mentor developers, and design scalable microservices in a fast‑paced delivery environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, and modern DevOps & cloud‑native practicesconsistent with expectations outlined in org‑wide documents for Java Leads.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of microservices‑based backend systems using Java (8/11/17) and Spring Boot.
• Own end‑to‑end API development, integration, and performance optimization.
• Implement event-driven architecture using Kafka (producer/consumer), ensuring reliability & scalability.
• Participate in architecture discussions, propose solutions, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Work hands‑on with CI/CD pipelines, Git‑based workflows, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Review code, guide developers, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, BA, and DevOps to ensure smooth delivery.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, security practices, and observability metrics (aligned with expectations in Indent Reports)

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong expertise in Core Java, OOPs, Collections, Multithreading.
• Spring Framework: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA.
• REST API development, JSON, Exception Handling, Design Patterns.
• Hands‑on experience in Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Kafka – topics, partitions, consumer groups, schema evolution (multiple internal profiles highlight this skill) .
• Experience with SQL (MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL stores.
• Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus (seen in internal Java Lead JDs)
