Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in developing enterprise applications using Java technologies and a solid understanding of insurance business processes such as Policy Administration, Claims, Billing, Underwriting, or Rating.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications for P&C Insurance.
- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform unit testing, code reviews, and debugging to ensure application quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Support production deployments and resolve production issues.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JPA.
- Experience with REST APIs, Microservices architecture, and SQL databases.
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
- Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Domain Experience
- Mandatory experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
- Strong understanding of Policy Administration, Claims, Billing, Underwriting, Rating, or Insurance workflows.
- Experience with insurance core systems such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar platforms is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native development is preferred.
