Java Backend Developer

Primary Skills:

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience (Core Java, Collections, Multithreading).
• Strong production experience with Spring Boot, building and maintaining REST services.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka — producer/consumer development, event streaming concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark
• Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures, including inter-service communication and resilience patterns.
• Prior experience working in the Retail domain (catalog, inventory, pricing, orders, offers, or similar systems).
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes — deployments, pods, services, and troubleshooting containerized apps.
• Exposure to Python andGenAI tools/frameworks (LLM APIs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted engineering workflows).
• Strong debugging skills with a proven track record of bug fixing and production support.
• Solid understanding of relational/NoSQL databases and SQL query optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).

Secondary Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP).
• Understanding of Apache Spark, and Scala.
• Exposure to observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Understanding of API Gateway, Service Mesh (Istio), and Helm charts.
• Prior experience mentoring engineers and leading small technical initiatives.
• Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
