Role : Java Backend Developer

Location : Chennai, TN (Hybrid 2 days/week)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native development. Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging systems, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs and Microservices following industry best practices.
• Build high-performance, secure, and resilient enterprise applications.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Integrate applications with databases, third-party APIs, and messaging systems.
• Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, and debugging.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Support production deployments and troubleshoot production issues.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Java (8/11/17+)
• Expertise in Spring Boot
• Experience with Microservices Architecture
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs
• Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security
• Knowledge of Hibernate/JPA
• Experience with Maven or Gradle
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Design Patterns
• Experience with SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) is a plus
• Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with Git
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or other CI/CD tools
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
