Java Application Developer

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Apache Kafka. This is primarily an Individual Contributor (IC) role focused on developing scalable, cloud-native applications and distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot Microservices and REST APIs.
• Build and integrate event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Develop resilient, highly available, and performance-oriented distributed systems.
• Implement secure APIs using Spring Security, OAuth2/JWT, and modern security practices.
• Work with relational/NoSQL databases and optimize application performance.
• Develop unit/integration tests and maintain high code quality.
• Troubleshoot complex application and production issues.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud-native deployment environments.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+ and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience building Microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka — producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, offsets, retries, and error handling.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, resiliency, scalability, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with Docker and cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with JUnit/Mockito and automated testing.
• Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD, design patterns, and clean coding practices.

Preferred

• Microsoft Azure experience, particularly AKS, App Service, Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
• Kubernetes, Kafka Streams, Redis, NoSQL, and observability tools.
• 6+ years of software development experience with significant hands-on Java/Microservices experience.
