About the Role

We are a government-recognized women's western wear manufacturer in light woven, supplying to international and domestic buyers. As we scale our design capabilities, we are looking for a Senior Fashion Designer to lead and own our end-to-end design function.

This role sits at the heart of our product strategy, bridging market intelligence, buyer needs, and fabric innovation into commercially successful collections. The right person will be the creative and technical anchor of our design team, working closely with the Founder, merchandising, and sourcing teams to take a range from concept to sign-off.

Success in this role looks like building a consistent seasonal design process, developing trend-forward yet commercially viable collections in light woven, and establishing a strong design identity that resonates with our buyers and their end consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth trend research and forecasting, translating global and regional market signals into actionable design direction relevant to the brand, buyer, and category
  • Identify and evaluate emerging fabrics, textile technologies, and surface development opportunities aligned with the light woven category
  • Develop seasonal collections in women's western wear with a strong understanding of silhouette, construction, fabric behavior, and garment detailing
  • Collaborate with sourcing and merchandising teams to ensure design decisions are aligned with cost targets, lead times, and buyer requirements
  • Build and maintain a structured library of trend references, fabric innovations, and competitor analysis
  • Present design concepts, mood boards, and range plans to internal stakeholders and buyers with clarity and confidence
  • Mentor and guide junior design team members, supporting skill development and process discipline
  • Maintain awareness of sustainability trends and emerging textile technologies from a design application perspective

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in designing for international buyers or export-oriented brands

Skills and Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of market trend forecasting and trend identification across market, brand, buyer, and category dimensions
  • Strong knowledge of fabric qualities, weave structures, and emerging technologies in textile development
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or equivalent
  • Ability to create detailed tech packs, flat sketches, and mood boards and story boards
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting design concepts to buyers and internal teams
  • Strong commercial instinct with the ability to balance creativity with cost, wearability, and market fit
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with sourcing, production, and merchandising teams

Why Join Us
