HVAC Technician Requirements
An HVAC technician should be well-versed in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all types of air conditioning and ventilation systems, including:
- Ductable AC Units
- VRF/VRV Systems
- Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Packaged Air Conditioning Systems
- Ventilation Systems
- Tower AC Units
- Split and Window AC Units
The technician must possess in-depth knowledge of HVAC principles, refrigerants, electrical controls, and system balancing, and be capable of reading technical drawings and schematics. Experience with BMS integration and energy-efficient HVAC solutions is an added advantage.
