About The Role

A System Administrator/Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems and infrastructure.

We offer a variety of tasks in expanding and improving our solution, from deployment to end-user support and management of operational challenges.

As part of a strong team, you will contribute to Hapag-Lloyd's critical core systems and make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Windows & System Administration

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize Windows client environments (10 & 11).
  • Perform patch management, configuration, and security hardening of systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex OS-level issues, performance bottlenecks, and service failures.

Asset & Inventory Management


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date IT asset inventory records (procurement, assignment, movement, retirement).
  • Utilize Excel-based tools and macros for tracking and reporting asset movement.
  • Implement and manage RFID device systems, including setup, monitoring, and integration with asset tracking software.

Technical Support & Issue Resolution


  • Provide first and second-level support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, and mobile device problems.
  • Manage support tickets using ITSM tools (Jira, ServiceNow), ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Deliver both remote and on-site support depending on issue criticality.

Reporting & Documentation


  • Generate compliance, audit, and inventory reports using Excel, PowerShell, and Azure tools.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, system diagrams, and asset logs.
  • Track SLA metrics and follow ITIL processes for IT service delivery.

User Onboarding & Offboarding


  • Coordinate with HR and teams to deliver smooth IT onboarding.
  • Conduct IT induction/training for new users on systems and IT policies.
  • Collect and deprovision IT assets, disable accounts, and revoke access during offboarding.

Preventive Maintenance & Monitoring


  • Perform regular system health checks (AV, conferencing devices, server room).
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend proactive improvements.
  • Monitor user hardware/software lifecycle and suggest upgrades/replacements.

Compliance & Policy Enforcement


  • Educate users on IT policies, security practices, and data handling.
  • Support audits with logs and configuration details.
  • Ensure endpoint security compliance and report deviations.

  • Investigates root causes and recommends preventive measures.
  • Learns from recurring issues to improve service delivery.

Work Experience


  • Hands-on experience in Windows system administration and IT operations for endpoint computing.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting, batch files, and Excel macros.
  • Proven expertise with Azure Active Directory, Intune, and MDM/Compliance management.
  • Experience with Windows automation and scheduled tasks.
  • Hands-on with RFID devices and management consoles (Zebra, Impinj, etc.).
  • Proficiency in IT asset lifecycle management and inventory systems.
  • Solid understanding of AD, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and user access controls.

Education & Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / Microsoft System Administrator certification.
  • ITIL Foundation (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of RFID inventory platforms or custom integrations.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL / Power BI (desirable).
  • English language expert proficiency (additional languages beneficial).
