About The Job:
- IT Storage and Backup Engineer General Summary Qualcomm India is seeking a Storage and Backup engineer with 3 to 4 years of experience in managing multi-vendor large scale Storage and Backup systems.
- Proficiency in storage technologies which include NetApp, Client, Pure and Backup systems including Cohesity and Networker.
- This person will be a member of a global 24/7/365 IT infrastructure operations team focused on enterprise Storage, backup, and recovery.
- This role specifically is focused primarily on administrating and providing support for Enterprise Storage & data protection.
- Our Senior IT engineers can expect to work with cutting edge technology in a large, fast-paced, and dynamic enterprise environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2 to 5 years
- Provides T1/T2 support to the storage and backup technologies infrastructure.
- This is an on-premise position
- 24/7-hour on call participation
- Monitor and troubleshoot service availability, capacity, and reliability.
- Efficiently handle performance issues on storage and backup systems
- Monitoring Backup systems for backup/restore failures and resolution on daily basis.
- Involvement in P1/P2 incidents and collaborate with multiple teams for resolution.
- Addressing Tickets (incidents and requests) in ServiceNow
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good to have some experience with cloud platforms & Autoamtion (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Phyton etc.,)
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and or technologies.
- Skilled in generating custom reports/dashboards and Knowledgebase documentation.
- Working with various vendors
- Prospective candidate should be technically sound in the following.
- Provision, migration and decommission of Storage and Backup systems
- NetApp cluster modes, Client Isilon and Pure Storage
- Cohesity Data Protect and Client EMC Networker
- Tape libraries from vendors like Oracle and Spectralogic or similar
- Snapmirrors/Snapvaults and Disaster Recovery (including Disaster Recovery of Backup catalogs)
- Knowledge on OS (Linux and/or Solaris)
- Relevant storage certifications (i.e. NetApp Certified Data Administrator), Cohesity or similar.
Prospective candidates having following is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of automation methodologies, scripting languages, and tooling.
- Scripting knowledge (Bash, Perl, Python or PowerShell)
- Basic knowledge on Splunk queries and Splunk Dashboards
- Any other skills that support storage and backup, not covered above.
- Basic knowledge on Ansible is desired.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- OR 1+ year of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree in a non-technical field (e.g., Business, Humanities, Marketing), or related field. OR 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a High school diploma or equivalent.
