Job Summary
The Quality Management Lead is responsible for establishing standards and guidelines for software testing to ensure software can be delivered on time and with minimal defects or issues. This role will work closely with business users and engineers to ensure that requirements are met, and that the software has been tested to meet all organizational standards including functionality, performance, usability and reliability, and is ready for usage.
Primary Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Standards and Guidelines
- Lead the development of quality management standards and guidelines in alignment with organizational standards.
- Establish test processes and procedures as well as documentation rules; ensure that testing is adequately documented.
- Provide guidance on the design and implementation of tests.
- Work closely with other teams to understand product roadmaps for estimating, prioritizing, planning, and coordinating testing activities.
- Lead efforts to improve test quality, including the usage of automated testing wherever applicable.
- Advise on test strategies optimal for each project / product / platform.
- Quality Assurance Testing
- Review quality specifications, technical design documents and provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Lead the development of comprehensive and well-structured test strategy, test plans and test cases.
Technical Competencies
- Measurement - Identify and prioritizes appropriate measures, scales and targets. Support projects, functions or teams in the development of methods for measurement and the collection and maintenance of data for measurement. Generate, produces and distributes reports.
- Quality management - Prioritize areas for quality improvement by considering strategy, business objectives and results from internal and external audits. Advise on the application appropriate quality management techniques and standards. Lead improvements to processes by changing approaches and working practices, typically using recognized models.
- Quality assurance - Lead the planning and execution of formal reviews and assessments, consider implications of emerging technology, approaches, trends, regulations and legislation. Evaluate and appraise non-compliance and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are identified and implemented.
- Acceptance testing - Plan and manage acceptance testing activity. Engage with senior stakeholders to secure organizational commitment and resources needed for effective acceptance testing. Provide authoritative advice and guidance on planning and execution of acceptance tests.
- Methods and tools - Lead development of organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for methods and tools. Lead the introduction and use of techniques, methodologies and tools to meet business requirements. Also provide advice on the adoption at program, project and team level.
- Performance management - Determine and delegate objectives and task responsibilities to individuals or teams — including people management responsibilities as appropriate. Set the quality, performance and capability targets in line with Organizational goals. Monitor performance and working relationships and provide effective feedback to address individual issues.
- Professional development - Assist practitioners with the creation of development plans. Advise and support assigned practitioners, ensuring alignment with professional development plans and career opportunities.

Minimum Qualification
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science, Information technology, Computer Engineering, or
related IT discipline or equivalent experience (or equivalent and related experience preferred).
Experience
Specialized experience
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Management experience.
- Extensive experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience working in project management or prioritizing tasks.
- Solid knowledge in SQL query writing.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
- Experience working with test management tools.
- In depth knowledge of testing and test coordination.
Management experience
- At least 3 years experience in a Quality Assurance Lead function (or similar) Skills
- Demonstrable technical skills.
- Demonstrable business and tech acumen.
