Role Overview:
The IT PMO will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and closing projects within the Information Technology (IT) domain. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management proficiency to ensure that IT projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The IT PMO serves as the liaison between various stakeholders, including clients, team members, and executives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
Project Governance:
- Establish a project governance framework with a structured approach to govern projects
- Provide valuable insight and guidance to project teams to ensure that projects run smoothly, within the budget.
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges.
Team Leadership:
- Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams, providing guidance, motivation, and support.
- Foster a collaborative team culture, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
- Delegate tasks based on team members strengths and project requirements.
Execution and Monitoring:
- Oversee the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring adherence to the project plan.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage project resources efficiently, optimizing productivity and addressing any resource constraints.
Communication and Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with all project stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates to clients, executives, and team members.
- Address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks, developing mitigation and contingency plans.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, ensuring minimal impact on timelines and budgets.
- Anticipate and resolve issues that may arise during project execution.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet predefined standards.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of project outputs to guarantee functionality and reliability.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Optimize resource allocation to achieve project objectives within budget constraints.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, risk registers, and status reports.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project progress, key metrics, and achievements.
Closure and Evaluation:
- Facilitate project closure activities, including finalizing deliverables and obtaining client sign-off.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Must Have Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. Jira & Confluence skill levels must be 8/10
- Ability to manage projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proven experience in IT project management, with a strong understanding of software development life cycles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good to Have:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE 2 / CSM or equivalent certification is desirable
