Position Overview

Job Title: IT Devops Engineer - AVP

Location: Bangalore, India

Role Description

  • The DevOps Engineer (AVP) is responsible for designing, building, and operating reliable, secure, and scalable delivery platforms that support endtoend software delivery across the Bank. The role combines strong handson engineering with ownership of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and automation practices, while ensuring delivery aligns with enterprise governance, security, and risk standards.
  • The role requires close collaboration with application engineering, platform, security, and operations teams to enable consistent, highquality delivery across multiple environments. The AVP DevOps Engineer is expected to influence tooling standards, embed controls into delivery pipelines, and improve operational resilience and developer productivity.

Your key responsibilities

  • Build and run CI/CD pipelines (pipelineascode) across environments - Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple releases across multiple environments, ensuring repeatability, traceability, and operational readiness. Align delivery tooling and practices to reduce duplication and increase delivery speed.
  • Embed governance gates and automated controls into delivery workflows - Integrate security and quality gates (e.g., code quality, vulnerability scanning) into pipelines and continuously improve governance automation to support controlled delivery and reduce audit risk through evidenceready workflows
  • Provision and automate infrastructure for application environments - Build and manage infrastructure components using automation (and manual steps only where needed), enabling consistent, secure environment provisioning aligned with platform standards and target roadmaps
  • Release engineering and deployment execution - Work with development teams and release managers to deploy application components reliably, coordinate release activities, and execute change tasks, ensuring service acceptance readiness and controlled golives.
  • Observability, proactive monitoring, and automation - Perform application health checks, generate usage and operational reports, analyse trends, and implement automation for proactive monitoring and reliability improvements, using standard monitoring and logging toolsets
  • Operational support with strong risk & control mindset - Provide BAU DevOps/infrastructure support, participate in incident and problem processes, and support remediation to reduce recurrence and maintain a controlled production environment with minimal audit issues

Your skills and experience

  • CI/CD engineering with quality + vulnerability tooling - Handson experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelineascode, integrating shiftleft testing, code quality analysis, and vulnerability scanning (e.g., Sonar and similar tools).
  • Linux/Unix platform engineering + secure connectivity - Strong experience securing and operating Linux/Unix environments, including SSL setup, SSH hardening, network connectivity patterns, and establishing secure applicationtodatabase connectivity.
  • Tooling: SCM, automation, and deployment platforms Strong handson capability with SCM (Git/Bitbucket), automation/config management (Ansible), CI tooling (TeamCity/Jenkins), and deployment tooling (uDeploy), with focus on stable, controlled releases
  • Cloud + container ecosystem experience (GCP preferred) - Experience operating workloads on cloud platforms (Google Cloud preferred) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift), including environment automation and deployment patterns.
  • Web middleware and network fundamentals - Working knowledge of configuring common middleware (e.g., web/app servers), plus network concepts such as VPN, reverse proxy, and web proxy, and integrating services via REST/SOAP APIs and microservices patterns
  • Operational excellence: incident/problem/change discipline - Demonstrated experience supporting production services with strong incident/problem/change hygiene and documentation, contributing to remediation tracking and prevention of repeat issues in line with enterprise problem management practices
