Job Summary:
IT Compliance plays a critical role in supporting our organization's compliance program with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). The
consultant will assess, test, document and enhance internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation. This role
involves working with cross-functional teams, identifying process improvements, and ensuring best practices in financial and IT
governance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conduct SOX compliance assessments, including risk evaluations and control testing.
Develop, document, and assess internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR).
Perform walkthroughs and control testing to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with finance, accounting, and IT teams to ensure controls are effectively designed and implemented.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
Assist in remediation efforts for control deficiencies and track corrective actions.
Stay updated on SOX regulations, PCAOB standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.
Support external and internal audit requests by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
Provide training and guidance to employees on SOX compliance and internal control best practices.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
CISA, or relevant certifications
7+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or financial controls.
Strong understanding of GAAP, COSO framework, and PCAOB standards.
Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Background in Big 4 accounting firms or a similar consulting role.
Experience with ITGC (IT General Controls) assessments.
Knowledge of risk management frameworks and enterprise risk assessment.
