SECTION II. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This role will have the responsibility to serve as the strategic interface between the assigned business functions of Product Development/R&D/NPD Process Management/Product Management and the IT COEs & Shared Services for the purpose of business IT technology strategy development and execution, solution discovery, service management and stakeholder management. This role will be responsible for leading and managing the IT initiatives associated with New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) processes of the Organization. Will function as a trusted advisor and will be the primary IT point of contact to the Business Leadership and stakeholders for the mentioned functional teams.

SECTION III. Key Result Areas

  • IT Adaption & Effectiveness
    • Ensure that Business Function stakeholders are aware of
      • the Services and Solutions provided by IT
      • IT Organization Structure
    • Drive Availability, Effectiveness and Adaption of IT applications
      • Ensure Regular Review of Productive systems Usage / Issue Resolution / Enhancements
      • Support adoption of solutions by the Business User Community
    • Drive Projects / Solution Implementation
      • Ensure Project Governance/ Delivery/Communication/Sign-Off (in the role of Project Manager / Delivery Manager as applicable)
      • Key Point Of Contact for support and for specific projects between the IT function and the relevant IT business partners/ key stakeholders in the business.
      • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
  • Enablement of / Alignment with Business Processes
    • Have a strong understanding of the Business Functions Strategy, Objectives and Priorities
    • Have in-depth and end-to-end understanding of the Business Processes
    • Have thorough knowledge of the IT / Digital Solutions/enablers used by the Business Function
    • Ensure thorough understanding and alignment on the Gaps/New Requirements in IT Solutions / Enablers used by the Business Function in their operations.
    • Ensure that Business Function stakeholders are aware of
      • IT Roadmap and Key IT Priorities (aligned with Business at Organization Level and at Business Function level)
    • Ensure alignment of Business Function and IT Priorities in terms of value adding enablers in the
      • Short Term 1 Year
      • Long Term 3 Years
    • Ensure End to End IT ownership for prioritized initiatives
      • Work in close collaboration with Business Function for preparation and alignment of RFPS/SOW/Business Case Proposals
      • Work in close collaboration with IT COE & IT Shared Services team as applicable for preparation and alignment of RFPS/SOW/Technical Evaluations/Solution Architecture
      • Work in close collaboration with Commercial / Legal Teams for Commercial / Legal Contracts with Solution / Implementation Partners
      • Ensure submission/approval for Budgetary Approvals with requisite documents ( for initiatives under IT budget). For initiatives under Functional budget, obtain confirmation that necessary budget submission / approval has been completed

      • the Services and Solutions provided by IT

      • IT Roadmap and Key IT Priorities (aligned with Business at Organization Level and at Business Function level)
    • Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs.
    • Develop solution concepts and business cases for new investments.

Educational Background

  • Mandatory: Bachelor in Mechanical/ Production Engineering / Electrical / Electronics.

Functional/ Technical Competencies

  • Must have experience in PLM Solutions / PLM Implementations
  • Experience in PLM to non-PLM solution interfaces
  • Sound Understanding of Business Processes across Product Development/R&D/NPD Process Management/Product Management functions
  • Functional Specification Documentation Skills
  • Strong Project Management / Delivery Management Skills

  • Certification in Product Lifecycle Management Solution will be an added advantage
  • Experience in Dassault 3D Experience will be preferred
