Job Description

Job Title

Vice President - IT & Business Management, Investment Technology & Services

Role Summary

The VP - IT & Business Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for financial governance, workforce planning, delivery enablement, and operating rhythm across Investment Technology & Services. This role acts as the business execution partner to Investment Technology leadership, ensuring budgets, talent, vendors, and delivery PODs are aligned to business priorities and measurable outcomes, while driving transparency through OKRs and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Budget Management

  • Own and manage end‑to‑end IT financial governance for Investment Technology, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, cost optimization, and variance tracking.
  • Provide executive‑ready insights on run vs. change, vendor spend, and investment trade‑offs to support funding decisions and strategic planning.
  • Partner with Finance to ensure budgeting aligns with business OKRs and multi‑year technology roadmaps.

Resource & Workforce Strategy

  • Lead resource demand and capacity planning across Investment Technology portfolios, ensuring optimal mix of internal talent, contractors, and strategic partners.
  • Support rollout and execution of the workforce strategy, including location strategy, role mix, succession planning, and skills alignment.
  • Work closely with Technology and Investment leaders to address resourcing risks and delivery bottlenecks proactively.

POD‑Based Operating Model Enablement

  • Assist in operationalizing POD teams (business, technology, data, and platform aligned) by defining funding models, capacity tracking, and performance metrics.
  • Establish consistent operating cadence for PODs across investment domains (Equities, Fixed Income, ISG, Trading, Research, Platforms).
  • Ensure POD execution is aligned to prioritized business outcomes rather than project‑centric delivery.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Oversee vendor engagement strategy, including onboarding, performance management, commercials, and renewal decisions.
  • Ensure vendor capacity and skills align with POD needs and long‑term platform strategies.
  • Act as a central point of coordination for third‑party risk, vendor productivity metrics, and contract governance.

Business OKRs, Execution & Reporting

  • Establish and maintain a clear OKR tracking and reporting framework across Investment Technology initiatives.
  • Track progress, dependencies, risks, and outcomes, providing transparent insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive corrective actions where delivery, funding, or resourcing deviates from agreed objectives.

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted partner to CIOs, Investment leaders, COO organizations, Finance, and HR.
  • Translate strategy into execution by aligning funding, talent, and delivery models.
  • Prepare concise, decision‑oriented materials for leadership forums and governance committees.

Key Capabilities & Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in IT Business Management, Technology Operations, or PMO/BMO leadership, preferably within Investment Management or Financial Services.
  • Proven track record in budget ownership, workforce planning, and vendor governance at scale.
  • Strong understanding of modern delivery models (PODs, agile at scale, product‑centric funding).
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Success Measures

  • Clear linkage between technology spend, resource deployment, and business OKRs
  • Improved predictability of delivery and capacity across PODs
  • Optimized vendor and workforce mix aligned to strategic priorities
  • Executive confidence in Investment Technology execution and governance
