Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IT Administrator to manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, systems, and services across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system administration, automation, virtualization, cloud services, and IT security. They will be responsible for ensuring system performance, data integrity, compliance with internal policies, and supporting end-users effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of IT inventory including systems, laptops, accessories, and related hardware components.
  • Ensure all systems are maintained in optimal working condition and are updated to the latest stable versions.
  • Develop UNIX shell scripts and PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and execute database jobs efficiently.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance based on business requirements and respond to incidents promptly.
  • Maintain biometric devices centrally, ensuring synchronization and uptime.
  • Manage user accounts and group policies using Active Directory features.
  • Maintain the entire IT infrastructure in compliance with IQA security and infrastructure policies.
  • Conduct regular event log analysis to maintain server integrity and detect anomalies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed system documentation, including SOPs, backup/recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and trends and make recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
  • Create and update operational procedures for issue resolution, request handling, and system administration.
  • Install and configure Microsoft Windows Servers, including performance tuning, patch management, and service pack updates.
  • Monitor and maintain network security systems, including firewalls and VPNs.
  • Administer and maintain cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure for deployment, migration, virtualization, backup, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Investigate and mitigate security vulnerabilities across various platforms while improving security posture.
  • Utilize VM virtualization platforms to manage virtual machines and optimize hardware usage.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Act as a first/second-level support for system incidents and service requests.
  • Ensure timely application of patches and updates for OS and critical applications.
  • Maintain records of software licenses and ensure compliance.
  • Assist in configuring switches, routers, and network access control.
  • Administer antivirus, endpoint protection, and DLP (data loss prevention) tools.
  • Enforce security baselines across all endpoints.
  • Manage IT asset lifecycle from procurement to decommissioning.
  • Regularly generate reports on system health, capacity planning, and incidents.
  • Understand and contribute to the DevOps lifecycle, particularly in deployment and environment management stages.
  • Apply automation techniques using PowerShell and Bash to streamline administrative tasks and reduce manual effort.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of ITIL best practices or other IT service management frameworks to ensure structured and efficient service delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum two years of experience in IT infrastructure/system administration within a software company or tech environment.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Node-Exporter etc.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Knowledge of security best practices including endpoint protection and patch management.
  • Exposure to DevOps processes and tools is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management methodologies
  • Preferred Certifications (Optional): Cisco Certified Network Associate Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator or Azure Fundamentals
