Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Administrator with 8 to 12 years of professional experience to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of all systems, servers, and networks. This is a hands-on role where the System Administrator will play a key part in supporting our IT operations, providing technical expertise, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth and efficient technology operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management:
- Manage, configure, and maintain company servers (both on-premise and cloud-based).
- Perform routine system monitoring, troubleshooting, and system backups.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, and applications.
- Network Administration:
- Maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and VPN configurations.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, perform network optimization, and ensure consistent network performance.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and monitor security policies, firewalls, anti-virus software, and security patches.
- Perform regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of sensitive company data.
- User Support & Training:
- Provide tier-2 and tier-3 technical support for end-users, resolving system, hardware, and software-related issues.
- Assist with user onboarding, providing technical training and support as needed.
- Assist with user account creation, permissions management, and password resets.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery:
- Implement and test backup solutions, ensuring business continuity in the event of system failure.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, including testing and execution of recovery plans.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain thorough documentation of systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide regular status reports on system performance, incidents, and ongoing projects to management.
- Collaboration & Project Management:
- Participate in IT projects (such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations).
- Work closely with other departments to address system-related needs and recommend technology improvements.
- Exchange Services:
- Manage and support Microsoft Exchange (on-premise and online).
- Administer Exchange-related tasks such as mailbox creation, permissions management, and troubleshooting.
- Manage Exchange Server environments, including migrations, upgrades, and integrations with other services (e.g., Office 365).
- Ensure email security, including anti-spam, anti-malware configurations, and compliance policies.
Technical Skills:
- Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux/Unix (CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN setup and troubleshooting.
- Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
- Scripting/Automation: PowerShell, Bash, Python.
- Security: Firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS systems.
- Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Acronis, Windows Server Backup.
