IS Compliance Specialist

Role Overview

  • In this role, you will have the opportunity to establish and maintain information security (IS) compliance processes, governance frameworks, and assurance activities. You will be responsible for planning, designing, implementing, and continuously improving governance, compliance, risk, and assurance practices. You will support compliance with internal policies and external regulations, ensuring effective control execution, audit readiness, and risk management. In addition, you will guide and support stakeholders on compliance requirements, documentation management, and process improvement initiatives to improve compliance maturity across the organization.

The work model for this role is Hybrid.

This role contributes to the FPDS function within ABB Finance and reports to the IS Compliance Operations Lead in Kraków, Poland. Key stakeholders include IS compliance teams, compliance officers, Corporate IS SRC, internal and external auditors, and Group Functions such as Governance & Assurance, Risk & Internal Control, Data Privacy, and Global Trade.

You will be responsible for:

  • Establishing, implementing, and maintaining governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks and methodologies.
  • Providing subject matter knowledge on compliance requirements, regulatory obligations, and internal controls.
  • Designing, reviewing, documenting, and executing IT compliance controls.
  • Monitoring control effectiveness and supporting the remediation of identified deficiencies.
  • Supporting compliance assurance activities, including audits, assessments, and reporting.
  • Performing risk and compliance testing to validate control performance.
  • Coordinating risk assessments related to the availability, integrity, and confidentiality of systems.
  • Maintaining accurate control documentation and tracking process or control changes.
  • Developing and managing compliance documentation, templates, and audit deliverables.
  • Coordinating stakeholder meetings, tracking action items, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Delivering training and awareness initiatives to improve compliance practices.
  • Improving continuous compliance processes, tools, and governance practices.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge in IT governance, compliance, and risk frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO 2700x)
  • Demonstrated experience in IT compliance, internal controls, audit support, or risk management
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as SOX, Data Privacy, Export Control, ESG, or related domains
  • Experience in control testing, process analysis, and documentation management
  • Well-developed methodical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and compliance-related tools
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business, or a related field
  • Effective communication skills in English
