We are seeking an experienced IPR (Trademarks, Patents) Consultant to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in intellectual property law, focusing on trademarks and patents. This role involves advising clients on IPR matters, managing portfolios, and representing clients in legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct trademark searches and analyze availability.
- Draft and file trademark applications with the appropriate authorities.
- Manage and maintain trademark portfolios for clients.
- Provide legal advice on trademark issues and strategies.
- Conduct patent searches and analyze prior art.
- Draft and file patent applications, responses, and office actions.
- Assist clients with patent portfolio management and strategy.
- Advise clients on intellectual property rights and enforcement options.
- Represent clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings.
- Stay updated on changes in intellectual property laws and practices.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or related field; a Master's degree (LLM) is a plus.
- 10-20 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in trademarks and patents.
- Strong understanding of trademark and patent law in India.
- Experience in drafting and filing patent and trademark applications.
- Ability to conduct comprehensive prior art searches.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in legal research tools and software.
- Knowledge of international trademark treaties and conventions.
- Experience in litigation related to intellectual property matters.
