Job Title: Technical Lead – IoT Platform

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of an IoT software platform. The candidate should have strong backend expertise, IoT experience, and the ability to lead a team while actively contributing to coding and system design.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture and development of the IoT platform, including device communication, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Design scalable, reliable systems for real-time data processing from GPS trackers and connected devices.
• Lead and mentor 7–10 engineers while remaining hands-on with coding, code reviews, and system design.
• Drive sprint planning, technical delivery, production deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, product, and customer teams on integrations and technical solutions.
• Ensure system security, performance, scalability, and reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software development experience, including 2–3 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong hands-on backend development experience in Node.js.
• Experience with IoT or connected-device platforms, TCP/UDP, and socket programming.
• Knowledge of real-time data processing using RabbitMQ, Redis, or similar technologies.
• Strong experience with MongoDB, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and REST APIs.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, system design, and secure device communication.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

Good to Have

• Experience with GPS tracking, telematics, geofencing, BLE, LoRa, or logistics technology.
• Familiarity with geospatial tools, map APIs, and hardware/firmware integration.
• Frontend/mobile knowledge and enterprise client integration experience.

A hands-on technical leader with a strong ownership mindset, comfortable working in a high-pressure, 24x7 product environment and managing business-critical systems.

Interview Process

1. Technical Round: 2-hour in-person interview with the CTO, including live coding and a case study. Candidates must bring their laptop.
2. Managerial Round: Optional discussion with senior management or a founding team member.
3. HR Discussion.
