Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IoT Edge Engineer with strong expertise in AWS IoT Greengrass and AWS IoT SiteWise to design, develop, and deploy scalable edge ingestion solutions for industrial and manufacturing environments. The role involves building containerized edge applications, implementing resilient edge-to-cloud data pipelines, and integrating OT systems such as PLC, DCS, SCADA, and Historian platforms with cloud services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage edge ingestion services using AWS IoT Greengrass and AWS IoT SiteWise.
- Build and deploy containerized applications for on-premise/plant environments using Docker.
- Design and implement standardized edge-to-cloud data ingestion pipelines.
- Configure device connectivity, telemetry collection, local buffering, and secure communication.
- Ensure resilient, reliable, and low-latency data transfer from OT systems to cloud platforms.
- Integrate industrial systems using OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, or Historian interfaces.
- Develop reusable edge deployment templates, blueprints, and automation scripts.
- Monitor and troubleshoot edge deployments, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Collaborate with cloud, data engineering, and OT teams to deliver scalable industrial IoT solutions.
- Follow security, scalability, and operational best practices for edge computing environments.
Required Skills
- 8–10 years of experience in IoT, edge computing, or industrial automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS IoT Greengrass and AWS IoT SiteWise.
- Experience building containerized applications using Docker.
- Proficiency in Python or Node.js development.
- Strong understanding of IoT protocols such as MQTT, OPC-UA, Modbus, and REST APIs.
- Experience with telemetry ingestion, device management, and edge data buffering.
- Knowledge of Linux-based edge environments and networking concepts.
- Experience integrating PLC, DCS, SCADA, and Historian systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation is preferred.
