Your Role And Responsibilities
An IOT SME in Manufacturing & Industry 4.0 specializes in guiding clients through the implementation of Industry 4.0 strategies, leveraging AI and IoT technologies to enhance productivity, optimize repairs, and accelerate digital transformation. This is a high-impact, senior-level position ideal for a seasoned IoT professional with minimum 12+ years of progressive experience who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and is passionate about turning connected-device potential into measurable business outcomes. As the IoT SME, you will act as both a technical strategist and a hands-on leader, bridging the gap between emerging IoT innovations and real-world business value. You will own the responsibility for designing robust, secure, and scalable IoT ecosystemsfrom edge devices and sensors through connectivity layers, gateways, cloud/hybrid platforms, and advanced analytics/AI integration. Your work will directly influence product roadmaps, solution portfolios, and enterprise-wide digital transformation programs.
What You'll Do
As an
IOT SME, you will:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end IoT solutions, including hardware integration, software platforms, and cloud-based analytics.
- Provide expert consultation on IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP, Zigbee, LoRaWAN), edge computing, and real-time data processing to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and risk analyses for IoT projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Mentor and train team members on advanced IoT concepts, best practices, and emerging trends like AI/ML integration in IoT and 5G/6G connectivity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, architects, and clients, to define IoT strategies, roadmaps, and proof-of-concepts.
- Oversee IoT security implementations, including vulnerability assessments, encryption, and threat modeling to mitigate risks in connected environments.
- Drive innovation by researching and evaluating new IoT technologies, tools, and vendors; recommend adoptions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Troubleshoot complex IoT issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement solutions in production environments.
- Contribute to thought leadership through whitepapers, webinars, and industry conferences on IoT advancements.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability goals by promoting energy-efficient IoT designs and green computing practices.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Deep knowledge of IoT security principles, including secure boot, OTA updates, and zero-trust architectures.
- Proficiency in wireless communication technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NB-IoT) and network optimization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Leadership qualities with experience in agile methodologies and cross-team collaboration.
